Excel & CSV Spreadsheet Viewer Online Free
Load a CSV or TSV file and browse it as a spreadsheet grid with sticky headers, horizontal scroll, row/column statistics and cell-level inspection. Handles quoted fields, embedded commas and custom delimiters without a backend. Perfect for quick checks of exports from CRMs, ad platforms or databases when you only need to read — not edit — the data.

Input data or select files to begin. 100% private, client-side execution with zero server transmission.
How to Use Excel & CSV Spreadsheet Viewer
- Step 1: Drop a .csv or .tsv file (or paste delimited text) into the uploader.
- Step 2: Confirm delimiter detection or override comma, semicolon, tab or pipe in the settings row.
- Step 3: Scroll the grid — headers stay pinned; hover a cell to see row/column coordinates in the status bar.
- Step 4: Read the summary cards for row count, column count and detected headers.
- Step 5: Use Copy TSV to put the parsed table on the clipboard, or load another file to switch datasets.
About Excel & CSV Spreadsheet Viewer
CSV (RFC 4180) is a delimited text format where fields are separated by commas and may be wrapped in double quotes; doubled quotes inside a quoted field represent a literal quote, and fields can contain newlines. The parser scans character-by-character into a row matrix rather than naive split(",") so “Doe, John” and embedded line breaks parse correctly. Delimiter sniffing inspects the first non-empty line: the candidate that yields the highest consistent field count across a few lines wins (comma vs semicolon vs tab vs pipe). Rows are normalized to the maximum width found — short rows pad with empty strings so the grid stays rectangular. Rendering uses a virtualized-friendly approach: only a window of rows mounts DOM nodes for large files, keeping the UI responsive to 100k+ line exports when possible. Sticky thead locks column names while scrolling. Type coercion is intentionally avoided in the viewer (everything displays as text) because leading zeros in ZIP codes and scientific notation surprises are worse than string fidelity. Stats cards count data rows (excluding header) and columns. All parsing is CPU-in-tab; file bytes are never transmitted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my file get uploaded?
No. Parsing runs entirely in the browser; the File API only reads bytes into memory.
What is the maximum file size?
Practical limits are device RAM; multi-megabyte CSVs work, but multi-hundred-MB files may freeze the tab — split them first if needed.
Can I edit cells or save changes?
This is a viewer: it displays and copies data. Editing belongs in Excel, Sheets or a dedicated editor.
Which delimiters are supported?
Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe, with auto-detection from the sample lines and a manual override.
How are numbers with leading zeros shown?
As text — ZIP 00123 stays 00123. No numeric coercion happens in the grid.
