Photo Collage Maker Online Free

Drop multiple photos into a grid collage — pick a layout (2×2, 3-up, story strip), set gap and border colors, and every image cover-fits its cell with centered cropping. Reorder slots by clicking cells, then export a single high-resolution PNG. Ideal for travel recaps, product bundles and social posts without opening a design suite.

How to Use Photo Collage Maker

  1. Step 1: Upload 2–8 images; empty slots appear according to the selected template.
  2. Step 2: Choose a layout (1×2, 2×2, 1×3, 2×3, 3×3) — images fill cells in upload order.
  3. Step 3: Adjust gap size, corner radius feel via border color and overall padding.
  4. Step 4: Click a cell then another image in the tray to swap positions for better composition.
  5. Step 5: Export PNG (lossless) or JPEG (lighter) at full canvas resolution.

About Photo Collage Maker

A collage is a single canvas composite: for each cell (x, y, w, h) the tool computes a cover-fit source rectangle — scale = max(cellW/imgW, cellH/imgH), centered crop — then drawImage into the cell after optional clipping for rounded corners. Gap and outer border are painted as background fill between cells, so the paper color shows through spacing. Templates are arrays of normalized rects (fractions of total width/height) supporting rows of unequal counts (e.g. hero + two stacked). Images decode via createImageBitmap when available for off-main-thread work; orientation from EXIF is respected by browsers that auto-rotate. Slot assignment preserves upload order; swap logic exchanges matrix indices then re-renders. Export size defaults to 2000 px on the long edge (configurable), balancing sharpness and mobile memory. Color management stays sRGB; CMYK PDFs are out of scope. Failure paths: non-image files rejected with toast; failed decodes leave slots empty and report which index failed. No server participates — multi-megabyte DSLR exports stay on device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Decoding, compositing and export all run locally in the browser.

How many images can I add?

Templates support up to 9 cells (3×3); extra uploads fill available slots up to the template capacity.

Will faces get cut off when cropping?

Cover-fit centers the crop; use swap and template choice to keep important subjects in view — exact focal-point editing is out of scope.

Is there a watermark?

No. Exports are clean files.

PNG or JPEG export?

PNG for maximum quality and when borders must stay crisp; JPEG when file size matters for chat sharing.
